Meet Dr. Alsina
George A. Alsina, M.D.
Dr. Alsina (pronounced “Al-SEE-nah”) was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Wilmington, N.C. He received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Boston University School of Medicine.
Following post-graduate training that took him from Los Angeles (UCLA) to Chicago, Dr. Alsina eagerly returned to his hometown in 2003, where he joined Atlantic Neurosurgical & Spine Specialists, P.A.. Five years later, Dr. Alsina chose to open his own practice, establishing Port City Neurosurgery & Spine in 2009.
Dr. Alsina is affiliated with New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and the New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society. He is board certified.
Dr. Alsina is fluent in Spanish, and his focus continues to be providing exceptional medical and personal care to all of his patients.
